A guide to finding care · Chicago, Illinois

What will the whole plan cost?

Do you want a price you can plan around? Ask for the full bill in writing, including the next refill. An advertised price is only the start of that conversation.

The assumption

The advertised monthly price is my whole bill.

What the answer rests on

A membership is an ongoing fee charged by the care service. Ask which visits and support it pays for. In the national online services checked in September 2026, medicine cost extra. These advertised fees do not tell you what a Chicago clinic will charge.

Inside the advertised medicine price

Know which price is being quoted

As of September 2026, most advertised cash prices checked for weight and diabetes medicines ranged from about $149 to $499 monthly. The price depends on the exact medicine, its strength, and the offer. Strength means how much medicine the product contains.

MedicineAdvertised cash price and supply
Semaglutide (Wegovy) injection pensAs of September 2026, new patients pay $199 per monthly fill for the first two fills at the lowest starting strengths, through December 31, 2026. Later fills cost $349 for standard strengths. A month is a box of four pens.
Semaglutide (Wegovy) tabletsAs of September 2026, a bottle of thirty tablets costs $149, $199, or $299, depending on strength.
Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) single-dose pensAs of September 2026, the advertised price starts at $499 for a 28-day supply.

As of September 2026, higher strengths of tirzepatide (Zepbound) have a $449 discount for the first fill at that strength. For later fills, keeping that discount requires refilling no more than 45 days after the previous delivery. Outside that window, the advertised price is $499 or $699, depending on strength. Ask how appointment or delivery delays affect the discount.

These are advertised medicine prices, with product and offer conditions. They do not quote a Chicago visit fee or a complete care plan.

As of September 2026, a month may mean a box of pens, a bottle of tablets, or a 28-day supply, depending on the medicine. When you pay cash outside insurance, it does not count toward your plan’s deductible or its limit on what you must pay out of pocket.

A deductible is what you pay before insurance starts sharing certain costs. An out-of-pocket limit is a cap on what you pay for covered care, not what the insurer pays. Ask the insurer how the quoted price affects your plan.

Past the starting price

Compare the next bill as well as the first

The maker’s published price before discounts is called the list price. A cash price is the amount you pay when you do not use insurance. A discount may reduce a price if you meet its conditions. With insurance, ask for your share of the bill after the plan pays its part.

As of September 2026, December 31, 2026 is the date when the terms of many introductory cash offers and savings cards end. An end date calls for a fresh price check; it does not say what the next price will be.

Ask what you pay if the plan ends without a prescription. Ask whether a quoted fee continues while a coverage decision is pending. Keep the answers beside the medicine quote.

If the total is hard to manage, that is a question to bring into the visit. Ask about other care choices and the costs of each.

And after the first fill?

What is the full recurring cost once the introductory offer ends?

The September 2026 membership examples are advertised national fees, not a survey of Chicago care bills. For a price you can plan around, ask the service you are considering for a full written quote.
